Last month I watched in awe of the fabulous results from Jolene from Mumbo Jumbo! A product I knew of in the UK, however I had never bought it because back then (over 4 years ago now) I was what people referred to as a skinny minny. Always a size 6/8. I never worried about my weight (although I am sure my mum did as she fed me lots of food hoping I’d bulk up, when I was little).. When I moved back from the UK, pregnant with my daughter, to live my life in Perth again, I packed up all my clothes and put them into six suitcases which came back with me. I have not worn any of these clothes since moving back because my body shape and size changed dramatically while I was pregnant with my daughter.

I had always had a fast metabolism so I didn’t think pregnancy would effect me the way it did. My body shape changed rapidly.. when I fell pregnant with my daughter. I gained over 20 kilos in that pregnancy. I was oblivious to this weight gain, as so much was going on, and I really thought “it was all baby”. When she was born, I didn’t lose any “baby” weight.

Dieting, I lost around 10 kilos (I wasn’t really counting), before I fell pregnant with my son, to which I gained another 20 kilos. I do blame myself for the massive weight gain. I ate alot of chicken nuggets. I love chicken nuggets and cheese burgers. I still do!

I dieted, exercised (not that much at all) and dieted some more throughout 2011 and beginning of 2012 so I could feel happy walking down the aisle when I married Drew in March 2012. And I was. I lost over 20 kilos and had reached my goal weight a few weeks before my wedding (I was about 5 kilos of my ultimate weight.. to which I am still 3 kilos off from that!)

My wedding day March 2012

My tummy is flubby, with lots of scars and stretchmarks (Appendicitis and 2 c-sections from my breach babies). It bloats badly (because I consume too much cola! A habit I am slowly kicking). I constantly wear my fancy pants (the knickers that go up to your boobs to old you in). I hide my tummy. I wear clothes that that hid my tummy, or don’t draw attention to it, if my fancy pants can’t hold in the flubber. But its not just about my tummy.. you know that booby flab you get under your bra… the one fat roll the fancy pant’s don’t quite reach!?

Me in September 2012

I had actually been talking about it with my husband for a while, saying I needed to do something with my tummy. As yes I had lost the weight, but I had no toning around the waist, I still had a big tyre muffin top every time I put on my size 12 pants.

I just knew there was something I needed to do about toning it up! Thats when I messaged Slendertone. We had a great chat on the phone, about the benefits of exercising and dieting, but when you have lost the weight, the toning is something that still needs helped with. I explained that I knew about the system in the UK and was ready to buy it right then and there!

And so I did.

My sister has now also bought it, after seeing Jolene’s review and hearing that I had bought the Slendertone Abs System too, she wanted to take up the challenge aswell!

So my Slendertone 6 week Challenge started last week.

and a week later…

I have lost an inch and a half around my waist! I am over the moon with the results! I seriously can’t believe it. It has given me the motivation to eat healthy, to exercise more (something I never EVER do..) and save up for the Slendertone Shorts! Watch out for my posts over the next 5 weeks as I complete this challenge!

Go you! Well done! You always look fabulous though :) I’m in the process of also losing weight that I gained over the past years having children. I used to be “skinny” as well growing up but that was probably a bad thing – I ate whatever I wanted – in excess. Slowly re-training myself to eat well and in moderation, plus exercise (which I’ve never been a huge fan of). At last “weigh in” I was 6.7kg down! woot!

You sound like me – a skinny minny – but then I gained 30 kilos when pregnant. I’m back to my usual weight now but have a very stretched tummy – I’ll be very curious to see how you go!

Great results and yay for finding something that works for you. Our weight stories are very similar. Keep up the great work!

Wow! Great results! Well done Yvette and keep it up.

Wow! Congratulations. I too am thinking how to crash start my 2013 to achieve similar results; after 3 c-sections and the struggles and stresses of parenting special needs kids, my once swimming 3 times a week, running 5 times, athletic figure is gone gone GONE. Thanks for the review and sharing your story (gosh I’d NEVER photograph my tummy – you are so brave and beautiful). Never heard of Slendertone either, but off to check them out now!

I know exactly the weight gain with two kids you are talking about! However I still need to lose from the second one! The slendertone is working a treat for you :)
