Last week I received a massive box of bento goodies from my friend Lyndal who has taken my breath away with her generosity and kindness!!

bottom left hand corner is what I used to make the sushi rolls.

One of the Bento Goodies was this sushi roll maker.
It was SO simple and easy to use that now I can make the perfect Sushi little rolls without getting my hands sticky!

The question was what do I serve with leftover Honey Chicken Stirfry?

Ninja Rice Balls thats what!!

The lil squirts are so use to the camera now, to get them to smile for the camera I sing…
Dance, Dance, Dance and FREEEZE to make them stay still!
Do you do silly things to make your children smile at the camera?
I have linked up today’s post with
for their Wordless Wednesday..
Pop over and see what photos have been put up today
and share the commenting love!

Love it! They look so cool! Mia is pretty good at giving me smiles for the camera, but then the poor girl has had a camera rather than my face in her face for the majority of her short life. However trying to take her monthly photos is getting harder and harder now that she wants to move about and grab the camera from me so I am having to employ the assistance of Dave in distracting her long enough to snap a few pics that aren’t just of her hand reaching towards me!

I do have some special people in my life!! I was chatting to a friend yesterday saying that making these lunches takes alot of effort and imagination.. you definitely do have to be patient and plan (otherwise I have 2 lil ones screaming at my feet for lunch!)

    I love them.

I need to find one because it would encourage my boys to eat nori more.

ebay :) So cheap!! My ones are now loving ‘sushi’ even though its mainly rice and seaweed!! I do triangles aswell which have tuna mayo or spag bol leftovers or chicken mayo inside! They love it.. plus sushi rice is easier to hold in your hand than normal rice (doesn’t go everywhere!)

what brand should I look for – Sushi roll maker ?
Ps Did you just cut the shapes for the Ninjas ?

        •

Google Nori Cutter Punch (ebay are the cheapest I paid about $7 for the smiley one). They punch out the faces on the nori seaweed – then I put them on the rice :)
YOu can get all different types of smiley faces (I just went with a normal one) and also different ones like airplanes and rabbits etc..

As for the rice balls – I make them myself by hand (little rice on wet hands or in gladwrap and roll into a ball) the device I used for the ninja ones came from Daiso in Melb/Syd.. its in japanese so I don’t know what its called ($2.30 the price!) My friend sent it to me! :)

Sushi makers u can pick up from groupon or spreets for $20
