With lunches starting to get back on track with my daughter, my son seems to have decided to be a minimalistic eater this week. Barely touching his breakfast, lunch or dinner. However he has crazy energy that he will go from 7am – 9pm with only a 15 minute nap in the afternoon to rejuvenate!

He has started to refuse his morning nap. After struggling with my daughter and her nap time from the time she was 18 months til 24 months I decided this time to just let it go, and see what happens. Most days he’s happy to go without a nap, and sometimes I find him asleep on the couch during quiet time.

What simple lunches do you make when your children are ‘off’ their food.

My daugher will always eat pasta. Always. I know that if she doesn’t, she really isn’t hungry.

Little pieces of finger food is great for us, too. Also, I might let my boys make their own lunch. They get to choose what goes on their plate (with some guidance… “Which fruit, an apple or a banana” etc) and they can use their kiddie cutter knives to create and chop their own sandwich and other bits and pieces. And then I try not to worry. Some days they’re really not interested in food and I spend the whole day watching them for signs of illness, other days I can’t fill them up. :-)
