You know when you read a blog post.. and you think.. oh thats so good!! And then suddenly the thought of doing what the said blog post did enters into every thought you have about desserts (ok I admit thought about it for breakfast too!) Well thanks to Kim-Marie of Kimbra Likes, I have had that such thought for over a week now after she posted about making a Classic Trifle.

Now there is one Trifle I crave alot.. you can buy it at Tescos in the UK. Its a Triple Chocolate Trifle, and from memory it is Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Custard, Chocolate Bits and lots of cream on top with Chocolate Shavings.. I am yet to perfect it, but it was my hangover cure on a Sunday along with a bacon and egg butty or my special Scrambly Mess to which people came over on a Sunday morning to eat it because it was so good and cured the hangover!!

Back to the Trifle.. one thing I have found very useful (especially when company arrives unannounced) is whipping up cakes in such a short time! The Kambrook Cake Pop machine has come in handy… alot over the last few weeks – it takes 5 minutes to make the batter and 5 minutes to cook the cakepops!! And that got me thinking… thats right..

Cakepop Trifle!!!

I made single served trifles, but would look great in a big round glass bowl aswell.

Ingredients:
Vanilla Cake pops – 2 per glass.
Rasberry Jelly (or if making for kids perhaps Lime Jelly!)
Thick Custard
Whipped Cream or Cream in a Can (I used Cream in a Can as we had it in the fridge and the kids think its funny to watch)
Sprinkles or Grated Chocolate (I used Christmas Sprinkles)

Instructions:
Assemble in order of ingredients.

Eat in an appropriate manner – unless your like me and the first bit dribbled down my top – thanks hubby for the photo.

Now that’s an excellent idea! I haven’t been home long enough to use my Kambrook cake pop maker yet, but I’m planning to whip it out on Friday. Yummo!

Excellent use of the cake pop maker. Love it!

Although I have to say that I’m a cream snob and can’t bear cream in a can. I think it’s one of those things that people either love or loathe – there is no middle ground! :) However, you can now buy real whipped cream in a tub in the fridge and it’s pretty good! :)

  3.

I love trifle!! It is a very under rated dessert!! Great photos!!

The cake pop machine is perfect for quick and easy trifle cake!! My mum makes a mean trifle, I however haven’t perfected it.

What a super fun idea and it would look great in a big bowl too.

My children would love that! Hmmm … I’m thinking the cakepop machine might be a good Christmas present idea for one of the children.

I’ve only made trifle once before, which was a hit, so I just know your version will be perfect. Love your creations.

Man, now I am going to be thinking about these for the rest of the week too and I don’t have a bloody cake pop machine. Do me a favour and get Kambrook to send me one would ya! ;)

Oh my yummy goodness. You are the queen.

I am think of pulling out my cake pop machine now and making some! I love trifle! :). For the adults soaking those cake pops in a little sherry as my Nanna used to would be yum too! :)

Lovely! However I’ll admit cake pops is taking the danger level a bit too high up for me. Miss 5 and I recently made our own version by layering just fridge & pantry leftover bits and pieces of bickie, fruit, custard and cream in a glass. That’s as much effort we can handle! :O

    Look so delicious!

  19.

Yummo!! You do realise next time you make it you have to make the chocolate version to show us all (calories don’t count when they’re blogged about. . . also they have flat feet so they fall off anything round – like a cake pop!)

  20.

that looks so wickedly good! I am not usually a trifle fan but lately I seem to have been increasing my liking for them. Yum!

  21.

  24.

YUM! My Mum makes trifle, I have never tried.. but I totally should. I miss it.

  25.

I did something like this recently but used vanilla muffins that I’d made! Green vanilla muffins with green jelly and green sprinkles! (we were celebrating Miss12′s entry into her new “house” at highschool – yep it was green!)

  26.

Christmas desserts are my favourite… trifle, pavlova, pudding… and your cake pop trifles are cuteness cake-ified.

  27.

    yummo! we love trifle here!!

  28.

They look pretty darn good. I love a good trifle, my Mum makes a killer one!!!

  29.
