When I shared my photo of my Pasta Salad on instagram this week, people asked for the recipe. I love food that is quick, simple and uncomplicated!

Quick and Simple Pasta Salad recipe:
Pasta (cooked)
Bacon (grilled and sliced)
BBQ Chicken (diced)
Sweetcorn (I use canned)
1 tablespoon Philadelphia cream cheese

Mix all together and serve – warm or cold – both are great – also can use mayonnaise if you don’t have cream cheese.

On the menu:
Quick and Simple Pasta Salad (with Cheese hearts)
Movie Night Trail Mix: Peanuts, Raisins, Pretzel Sticks, Mini Marshmellows, Smarties
Hard Boiled Egg (used my Fish Egg Mold)

We receive alot of questions about snack ideas here at Little Bento. Things to put into the lunchbox besides a sandwich, wrap or salad, food to feed the hungry mob at any time of day!

I have had a few lists on the inside of my cupboard doors. Snack ideas, Lunch ideas, Diet tips/foods. I even have a cleaning one on my fridge (which never gets looked at).. so with that in mind…

I have made my very first printable! (go me!) with more to come!

Snack ideas that you have in your cupboard, fridge and freezer.. so when that door opens and you hear a “Mum I’m hungry”.. you have your list so they will never need to say those three words again!

Getting back into the swing of making a Bento Lunchbox every day after a week away, I wasn’t sure if it would be hard or easy. I have been making these lunches every day for the last year.

I did explain once or twice to a few people while I was away. Last year I made 365 Peanut Butter Sandwiches – and every day it was different. I came home to a package from a friend in the USA, who sent me this gorgeous Bento Lunchbox for my daughter!

On the menu:
Peanut Butter Sandwich (Jigsaw Puzzle Cutter)
Cheese (House Cutter)
Crackers
Yoghurt covered Rice Crackers
BBQ Chicken

Raisins
Peanuts
Yoghurt covered Raisins

Do you find it easy to make lunches after a short break away?

One of the best ways to enjoy a packed lunch - whether you are a child or an adult is via Bento!

I have been making Bento Style Lunches for my children for the past two years and even my husband has his lunch in a Bento Style (he requests my Pacman Sandwich Cutters alot!)! He has come to the realisation that the little ones love their lunches the way Mummy makes them, I think he appreciates the time and effort I put into it – although it doesn’t take me that long at all and they are quiet easy! But the main reason I started these lunches was so my children would eat more, and try new foods. This has worked for us and I couldn’t be happier!

I will continue using a packed lunch this way – throughout their primary school life. There are an average of 200 packed lunches a year, I will be making for my daughter when she starts school next year. Making these lunches the same, with a little variety, I find is all down to the styles of lunchbox and the sandwich cutter you use!

On the menu:
Sausage (held together with a Leaf Food Pick)
Cheese
Ritz Crackers
Tomatoes (held together with a twin Leaf Food Pick)
Raisins, Peanuts, Yoghurt Berries (in Blocks Food Cups)
Blueberries
Seedless Grapes

Do you make a packed lunch for your children or husband?
