One of the quickest and easiest way to dress up a Bento lunch is by making a Ham Flowers (or Ham Blossoms) and the best thing about it, is that you don’t need any special tools!

Ingredients:
Ham

Instructions:
Fold ham in half.
Make small inserts along the folded edge almost halfway with a knife (or scissors if you can find them – which I couldn’t at the time I did this!) not too deep or the ‘Petals’ will go droopy!!
Roll ham from one end to the other tightly.
Trim the bottom if you want it to stand nicely.

Watch as your child discovers something new on their plate!

We love sushi rice in our household.. especially when we make it into shapes!

You can view my “How to make Rice Balls” .

Or you can get a cookie cutter. Place it on the plate. Put Rice into the mold, and then pat down. Carefully lift up the cookie cutter while holding the rice. Be careful! Sushi Rice is sticky!

On the menu:
Rice Shapes (Heart and Bear) with Cheese and Ham (and the bear has a seaweed face!)
Sliced Apple
Tomato (with a tomato food pick)
Strawberry (with Minnie Mouse)
Sausages (with Donald Duck)
Blueberries
